Gugs was founded by Eugene Tembe, who remains our chairman and a key part of the team. In 2015, he partnered with Big Skies to bring investment to his vision, marking our introduction to the KwaMpukane community. From the start, the lodge was built not to "do community" but to be deeply woven into it.
